Foster's Kitchen Waikoloa

Foster’s Kitchen takes the win for our first visit to the Big Island. The food is amazing including the staff, Pua and Bri, A! I got the Gumbo and grilled cheese with extra grilled onions. My fiance ordered the Steakhouse burger, well done, and the Buffalo chicken sandwich and they were amazingly delicious!! The BBQ platter was also a hit, but I really enjoyed the Gumbo and fried green tomatoes! We ate dinner here for two of the 7 nights on the Big Island. Keep in mind, we were staying at the Fairmont Orchid, about a 20 min drive.

This place was absolutely phenomenal! We were tired from a 20 hour travel day and wanted some comfort food before bed, and found this restaurant on Google because they were open until 10 pm. We ordered a beer and a wine to enjoy, and on a whim split the fish & chips. I was not expecting how unique this dish was: the swordfish was marinated with a flavorful crust (rather than the traditional beer batter, it was crispy spices but not *spicy*) and the tartar sauce was the best I’ve ever had. The fries and coleslaw were bonuses on top of an already fantastic meal. The waiter (son of the owners) was super helpful and attentive and friendly. If anyone is in need of a late-night meal at the Waikaloa village, be sure to stop by this place for great food, great atmosphere, and 10/10 hospitality.

Had a very pleasant experience having dinner here. Our waitress was so sweet, and the lake view from the back patio was gorgeous. The food was amazing and affordable compared to other places in the area. Situated near cute shops. Plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available as well. We got the sourdough grilled cheese with tomato bisque, chicken and rib meal, and the chocolate torte. The fresh vegetables side was so good. Highly recommend:)

We made same day reservations and so glad we checked this place out! Food and drinks were absolutely delicious. The manager and our server were both so kind and made our dinner so pleasant. We were celebrating a birthday and even got a surprise birthday dessert which was very nice! All the pasta dishes were so flavorful and the meat/fish dishes were cooked to perfection!

Food was so fresh and yummy. Huge piece of white fish in the fish and chips and the calamari wasn’t fried, which I’ve never had but was so good because of the sauce that it came with. The manager and server were top notch!!! If I lived close, we would definitely be regulars!

Beer was amazing. Got the Kohola Pilsner. It was fantastic. Then i got the Cajun Shrimp pasta... Phenomenal. So good. My waitress was really sweet and overall a nice experience.

Being from the mainland and living in Hawaii now, I’ve noticed mainlanders complain about the most unnecessary things. We arrived a little past our reservation and was seated immediately. The 2 at the door were nothing but kind and smiles. We were seated in their patio on the lake right outside the door, beautiful scenery for me and my wife to enjoy our date night. Tita that served us... Outstanding customer service! We ordered drinks & appetizers first. Drinks were at our table in less than 15 minutes, appetizers..less than 20 minutes. I ordered the blackened shrimp pasta, delicious! My wife ordered her steak and it was cooked to her liking which is a plus because most restaurants cook them well done. Dinner was at the table in less than 45 minutes which was okay because we had drinks and appetizers to hold us over. The food was delicious and the service was even better! I recommend making a reservation for your party no matter what size. We had only 2 of us and I still made a reservation. I also recommend being seated in the patio on the lake; you will not be disappointed with the beautiful view. Tita that served us; mahalo for your awesome service, you deserve a raise! We’ll be coming back to Foster’s Kitchen just for the beautiful service we received.

Pretty solid meal. Burger was properly cooked. Kids had garlic fries. Beer options were on point. Server was a good guy and quite helpful. Had the fish wrap. Blackened. Nice. Quality food and made from scratch. I would come back here. Similar to the pricing in other Hawaii restaurants.
